Marble Falls? Carson Bowen drove in three runs with a two-out double in the fifth inning to lead the Mustangs to a come-from-behind 4-3 win over the Canyon Lake Hawks in the baseball season opener at Canyon Lake Monday.
The junior centerfielder smashed a 1-0 pitch up the middle to push Cole Wilson, Cody Goodman and Jimmy Daminco around the bases for a 4-2 lead.
Canyon Lake answered with a run in the bottom of the inning, but Marble Falls? pitching and defense was up to the task.
Marble Falls used four pitchers in the game with Goodman finishing off the game with three innings of work. Goodman allowed two hits, struck out one and stranded four runners.
Other pitchers in the game were Cole Ridgely, Stacy Heinatz and Garrett Winslett.
Domenic Patterson had a solo homer in the top of the second inning to help keep Marble Falls in the game.
Canyon Lake starting pitcher Logan Felch blasted a 2-run homer on a 2-2 pitch in the bottom of the first off Ridgely.
Marble Falls had three hits in the game, but Bowen?s and Patterson?s paid dividends.
